What is 6-APB?

6-APB, also referred to as 6-(2-Aminopropyl)benzofuran or “Benzofury,” is a novel empathogen belonging to the benzofuran class. This compound is known for inducing feelings of connectedness and empathy, similar to other substances like 5-MAPB and 5-APB.

First synthesized in 1993 by David Nicholls, 6-APB was developed with the intention of discovering a non-neurotoxic alternative to MDMA, which is known to have the potential to cause neurotoxicity in humans.


What are the Effects of 6-APB?

The subjective effects of 6-APB are frequently reported to be quite similar to those of MDMA and 5-MAPB. Users often describe 6-APB as being slightly more stimulating than 5-MAPB, which is typically characterized as more euphoric.

One notable difference is that 6-APB has a significantly longer duration of action compared to MDMA. The effects of 6-APB generally last between 7 to 10 hours, whereas MDMA's effects typically last around 3 to 6 hours, which can lead to compulsive redosing.
